Complete in Christ

 Matt 19:21

Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete (perfect), go and sell…

What do you possess that you are not willing to let go in order to be complete and whole in Christ? The call to follow Christ requires that we take up our cross and let go of those things that hold us back from fully serving Him. The scripture has many examples of those who held back, and did not gain entrance to eternal life. The love of money has kept many people from having eternal life, but money is not the only thing that keeps people from having eternal life. Eternal life is given to us only through Christ, and knowing Him is to follow Him in complete obedience to His word. We cannot be perfect or complete in Christ if we don’t have a heart single toward Him and Trust Him with our whole heart.

Doing It For God

Col 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.
Sometimes I wonder why I even try, it seems like no one really cares one way or another what I do. whether it be at work, or at church many things go unnoticed. I believe it is natural to desire that the things we do count for something and are having an impact in the world we live. I must always remind myself that what I do does not have to be seen by others. I do what I do because it is what God called me to do. God sees the time and effort I give and the frustration and stress that I go through. Frustrated when things don’t go the way they were planned, stressed out when my efforts fall short. It is good that God sees the heart and the motivation to do what is right. Other may not see it and may judge wrongfully, but the work I do is not to please others, but to please the God I serve. We must keep plowing and keep our eyes straight ahead on the things that really matter. Doing all things with our whole heart for Christ and the Kingdom.

Your Whole Heart

Psalm 111:1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

With my whole heart, and everything within me I give myself to God in praise. The whole heart does not hold back, does not share its affections. The whole heart is committed 100% to the things of God. In time of worship, the whole heart puts away the things in life that weigh heavy on our mind. The heart is focus on Jesus, His love and grace. His mercy that endures forever. With our whole heart, we give thanks to God for all that He has done and will do. We enter into His house with thanksgiving and praise because He is worthy and holy. There is no other God like our God. Praise Him not only in the place of worship, but praise Him at home, work, school, and wherever you go. Let others know that you have given your whole heart to God and He alone is worthy of our praise.

With All Your Heart

Ps 119:34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Deut. 11:13 to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

To serve and love God with your whole heart. What does it mean to give someone your whole heart. The heart is known to harbor the seeds of affections. Our passions, our desires that will fulfill and satisfy needs and wants. When we speak from the heart, we speak what we really feel without deception. From the heart come the issues of life, the essences of who you really are. All means that there is no place for any other affection to give yourself to. It does not mean that you are not tempted to give in to other desires that may try to infiltrate. That is why we must guard our heart. Living for Christ is not something we do, but something we are. Serving God without loving His precepts is to live in bondage. To serve and love Him with ALL your heart is to know what real freedom is. The truth shall set you free.
