Our Inheritance

Psalm 47. He shall choose our inheritance for us…”

Read this morning in a devotional that went with last nights sermon. “Some Plants die if they have too much sunshine. It may be that you are planted where you get but little. You are put there by your loving Husbandman, because it is only in that situation that you will bring fruit unto perfection”- Spurgeon. God, the all knowing chooses the valley we walk through because He knows what is best for us. Let us trust His will for our lives even when life does not seem fair. Our inheritance is His plan for our lives.

Inheritance in Christ

1 Peter 1:4 “to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in Heaven for you,”

The inheritance that I receive from my mother and the inheritance I leave my children will fade away with the passing of time. It may buy a few things and may provide for a more comfortable life, but the inheritance of this world is corruptible, it will all turn to dust. After we pass from this life, the trails and temptations will also fade away. We have been promised a new hope, a new beginning. Through Christ, we have inherited eternal life, this inheritance will not fade away. The treasures of life are truly that which pertain to the Kingdom of God. We are not of this world, we are only passing through. Our final destination is Heaven, it is our inheritance in Christ.
