Trust God for Peace of Mind

 Isaiah 26:3
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind stays on you because he trusts in you.

I often wake up in the middle of the night and my mind starts to think of things that are happening in life. I start to become anxious about things I really don’t have any control over. Or, maybe something I said or did that I now have second thoughts about. I tell myself that I can’t change what has happened and need to leave it in God's hands.  Easy to say, but not always easy to do. Having “peace of mind”does not always happen in a moment of time, at least for me it doesn’t. I know that God desires that I give it to Him, and trust Him to work things out. Like forgiveness, trust is a choice that I must make. Life is not perfect and accepting that not everything is going to go like I want it, life happens, but God also happens when I choose to put my trust in Him. I know that I am not alone, we all have our moments of apprehension and worries. For some, it may be the health of a loved one, or a conflict at work, or in the home. There is no end to what may be the problem, but peace is always possible when we focus our minds and hearts on God and trust Him to take control and let God do what is best.

Hinds' Feet

 Habakkak 3:19
The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me walk upon mine high places.
When a deer senses danger, it quickly flees to find shelter and refuge. God made the hinds’ feet of these animals to allow them to jump high fences, stepping so as not to fall as they bound away from their enemies. God, who is our strength in times of trouble, gives us “hinds’ feet” to escape trouble and the ability to overcome difficult situations. That mountain that seems to be impossible to climb in our own strength, He gives us just what we need to traverse the rugged terrain and see us up and over the mountain that keeps us from claiming victory over life’s difficult problems. He is our strength and refuge in the time of need.

Tribulation in Life

John 16:33…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Tribulations are inevitable. Life without problems is to be expected on this earthly journey. Being a Christian does not exempt one from facing difficult times. God’s love does not mean that we will not face sickness, hard times, or even an early death. We live in a broken down world caused by sin and bad things will happen. People will be mistreated, things will be stolen, murder is in the hearts of wicked people. Blaming these things on God is often the first reaction of most people. Jesus warned us that life will happen and it will not always be good, but He promised us that He would not leave us or forsake us. In the mist of tribulation we can be of cheer. The world and all of it problems are overcome when we put our trust in Jesus. For He is the one who can take us through and bring us safely on the other side. We can be more than conquerers and overcome life’s trial and tribulations when we allow Christ to carry us through.

Spread it Before the Lord

2 Kings 19:14 And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.

Finding a solution to our problems is not always easy. Every day we are faced with obstacles, some bigger than others. Some have easy solutions and just require us to use our brain to think it through. Solving problems using our human ability that God gave us is often all we need. But then, there are problems that come that are beyond our human strategies and solutions. In times like these, we take our problem and spread it before the Lord. We lay it out there for God to see and we pray. We either pray for direction to do what needs to be done, or we pray that God would perform a miracle. Jesus is all we need and He is often the answer to many problems. We spread our need before Him and He sees the earnestness of our prayer. When things happen that are beyond our control, let us spread it out before the Lord and let Him have His way.

God Alone

Isaiah 37:20 “…You are the Lord, You alone.”-

There is only one God and He is Lord of all. God alone created heaven and earth, God alone took man from the clay of the earth and formed him into His image. God alone is all we need when life gets stressful and the worries of life load us down. When trouble comes are way, God alone is able to make a way through and help us walk the path before us. The problems we face are real and there are many who have fallen because they have failed to trust God alone. They have relied on their own strength or earthly means to help them. They failed to pray and seek God alone. In the dark times, when we cannot see our way through, we can turn to God who is Lord of all, and He alone will be there to meet our every need.

Trouble Days

Psalm 86:7 “In the day of my trouble I will call upon Thee, for Thou wilt answer me.”-
Every generation has times of trouble. We live in trouble days, problems on every hand. We all face them, some more severe than others. We encounter trouble at work with a co workers or our boss, we may be facing financial trouble paying our bills, meeting our obligations. Because we are human and prone to make mistakes, we sometimes create our own trouble. Getting in trouble is most often due to something we did foolishly or carelessly. Driving too fast will cause us to get in trouble with the law, and we may have to pay a fine. Money out of budget may keep us from making the car payment, the list of trouble continues. Even in times where we drop the ball, we serve a God of mercy, and we can call on Him and He will answer. Troubles will come our way and sometime unexpectedly. It times like this, God will pour out His grace and give us just what we need to face the trouble before us.

My Help Cometh from the Lord

Psalm 121:1,2 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help! My help cometh from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”-
Problems are just part of life and it is so human to focus on earthly matters. By nature, we are often driven by how we feel, the mood we are in. Our emotions most often dictate how we make decisions. In times of desperations, we look around us to find a way out, or for someone to come to our aid. We forget that we serve a great God, who knows all about us, He knows the problems we face and desires to help us. We just need to readjust our eyes upward, and get them off the circumstances around us. Our God is a awesome God who created the universe and knows the numbers of hairs on our head. Help awaits us if we can only lift our eyes heavenward and trust God to solve our problems. There is no problem too hard for God, that He is not able to solve. In time of weakness, in times when there seems to be no solution, we can lift our eyes to Him and trust Him to help us in our time of need.
