Don't Worry, Trust God

 Philip 4:6
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.

It is within human nature to be anxious and be worried. It is a natural response when things in life turn against you. Paul’s admonition to us is not to worry about the unfortunate events that happen in our life. How is this possible? When we sense danger, our response is to flee, run, our body naturally responds to danger when we encounter it. Yet, Jesus says, “fear not”. Overcoming fear or worry is not done by human efforts, it is done by prayer and supplication to God. He provides grace, He is the one that will take care of us. It is supernatural. The power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the human reactions of anxiety. Letting go of our circumstance and situation and allowing God to take control. Knowing that He is the one in control will bring peace to whatever we are facing. Don't worry, trust God!

Don't Be Anxious

 Philip 4:6 & 13

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God...I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Impossible! Being anxious is part of human nature, right? The definition of being anxious: worried, concerned, uneasy, apprehensive, fearful, perturbed, troubled, bothered, disturbed, distressed, disquieted, fretful. All of these words describe a person who has forgotten that God is in control, and having such feelings and thoughts will lead to despair. Our human reaction is often displayed in this way. Like temptation, we have a choice to make. Scripture admonishes us to take all our worries and concerns to God in prayer, put our trust in Him, lean not to our own understanding, trust and surrender our lives and situation to Him. We can do this! How? “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

One Day at a Time

 Matthew 6:26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they?

We worry about many things in life. It is the way our minds and emotions work. We worry about money, relationships, health, the wellness of others, both spiritually and physically.  Jesus tells us, “Take no thought.” Take your life one day at a time. Today God is able to provide, today, God is taking care of you. Tomorrow will be what it is, and there is nothing you can do about it today. We live in the here and now, and now is the time to believe. Now is the day when we trust God for our daily needs. “Give us this day, our daily bread.” Let us rest in knowing that He holds the future, and nothing will happen without His permission. Take no thought about tomorrow. Hold on to God today.

Don't Worry- Trust God

Matt. 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Paul says this in another way, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything give thanks” Don’t think about what will happen tomorrow, God has it covered. There are enough problem that we face today to worry about what might happen tomorrow. Worry is triggered by the unknown. The unseen possibilities that can cause us to have sleepless nights. The haunting question, “What if”? The reality is such circumstances and situations may come to us, but even so, Jesus says, to trust Him to take care of such things. Seek Him, and in Him there is security in knowing that nothing will happen that His grace will be sufficient to help us through. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things…” It is human nature to worry, but He is able to give us a peace that passes human nature to rest in Him.

Don't Worry, God Has This Covered!

Matt. 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself…

“Don’t worry, God has this covered!” We are creatures that fret about tomorrow. I believe it is part of our human nature. How we handle worry is the choice we make. We can go about our day and become “worry sick” and start to doubt that God cares or that God is even in control. There are many things in life that we don’t have any control over. Yes, if we had known the outcome of events, we could have chosen a different path, but we didn’t, and we face what is before us. The way life works, the other path would also present us with its worries. There was a song in the 80’s called “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” in life we will have trouble and things will happen, but we only double our trouble when we begin to worry. Jesus said, you can’t do anything about tomorrow, tomorrow will take care of itself. Trust God for today. Cast all your cares and worries on Him, for He cares for you. When you begin to worry, think on the goodness of God, and His love for you. Trust in Him with all your heart, and this too shall come to pass.

Anxious and Troubled

Luke 10:41 “And Jesus answered and said unto her, “Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things.”-
Anxiety will not only robs us of enjoying life, but cause us to get our eyes of what really matters in life. We worry about many things that are really meaningless when it come to eternal matters. We become troubled about many things in life that make us wonder if God even really cares about us. Living life  has many emotions and there are times that those emotions don’t feel good. We want things to go without any problems and obstacles. We have expectations of ourselves and others and they often fall short. We worry how things will get done when no one seems to care. The temptation is to either complain or just give up. It was not in the serving that Martha was rebuked, but in her attitude toward her burden and Mary. I believe if Martha would had taken the attitude that she was serving to please the Lord and rejoices that Jesus was in her home to serve, that her worry about Mary would have been just a passing thought. Worrying about many things keeps us from drawing close to God. Jesus wants us to cast away our worries and live life knowing that He can take care of all the “stress” and “why?” in our life. We serve Him not to be seen of others, but because we love Him, and desire to know Him in His fullness. As we serve, we need to stop and listen to what He is saying, and rejoice that He speaks to us.

Worried and Concerned

Mat 6:25 “Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. ”-

Worrying is a natural emotion that if allowed to continue can consume our lives. The nature responds of human nature when things appear to be going wrong is to worry about the outcome. On the surface it looks like worry and concern seem to be two sides of the same coin. I can worry about how the bills will be paid, or I can say that I’m concern about how the bills will be paid. The difference is that to worry is to allow that concern to control your life and dictate your mode and ability to trust God for the situation. Jesus knew that worrying would be a difficult emotion to submit to God, so He gives His children reassurance that He will not forget about them, that He has everything under control and for some divine purpose He is allowing for set backs. He desire that we submit our hope, our desire and fate into His hands. Seeking first the will of God and doing it always bring contentment and reassurance that God will take care of all the rest.
