Fall From God

2 Peter 3: 17,18 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…
The teaching that once you have accepted Christ as your Savior you are eternally secured is a false assumption. We are saved by grace through Christ, and nothing but the blood of Jesus can save us from the sins we have committed. But to continue in sin is presumption and assumes that He covers our sins without confession. If any man sin, we have separated ourselves from His promises. Thankfully, we have an advocate, who will forgive our faltering and falling away, but we must turn to Him in our time of need. Scripture teaches us that it is possible to fall away from God, but it also teaches us that we can remain secure in Christ if we continue to grow in grace and let the mind of Christ dwell in us through the Holy Spirit. We are vessels of clay, and subject to human weaknesses, and human perfection is not possible, but our hearts can be made perfect in Christ if we stay stedfast in the teaching and grace of Christ.

A Royal Priesthood

1 Peter 2:9
 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
Times in our lives that we may feel unconnected, and little use in the world we live in. Devalued by those who see our shortcomings and lack of talent to make a difference. But in the eyes of God, we our precious and valued. His grace makes us into something special. We are now part of a spiritual building, and Jesus is the cornerstone of this building. We have been made partakers and are now part of the royal priesthood of God. His purpose is to have our light shine even when we are test and are faced with trails beyond our human ability to withstand. We are not like the world. We may be part of this world with its suffering, but we are not of this world. For we have a hope that transcends this earthly life. He has brought us by his grace from a life sin and failure and has made us to be the light of the world. Let us be a generation of holy people that show forth the praises of God.
